About Waist Beads
(Jewelry for your waist)
Waist beads are fashionable body jewellery for your waist! They are worn by females of many diverse cultures, ages and sizes from children to grandmothers! You do not have to have a flat stomach to wear waist beads! You can wear one strand or several strands. Women wear them to feel sexy, beautiful and confident!
In African culture, waist beads are given to girls when they are children to measure growth. Women wear them under clothing as a special piece of jewelry for themselves, or for their husband's eyes only! They can be worn on the beach, or as an accent on top of fitted clothing. Waist beads can gauge weight gain or weight loss (waist beads start to feel more snug with weight gain, and looser with weight loss).
Prices are per strand. Each strand of waist beads is made by hand using glass/crystal beads with a clasp closure and a 2" extension chain for adjustments. Please view video below on how to measure your waist.
We also create custom colours and patterns to your liking! Flag colours, favourite colours, etc. Please email for details or fill out the Custom Order Form!

New styles are added frequently, so please check back regularly! All waist beads shown on this page can be made into hoop earrings! Please email for details!
Measuring your waist
It is highly recommended to measure with a measuring tape to get an accurate size.
Waist beads can be worn anywhere you prefer, from your belly button down to your hips. To measure for waist beads, take a flexible measuring tape and place it on your skin around the area of your stomach, waist or hips where you would like to wear the waist beads. Don't pull the measuring tape too tight or hold in your stomach when measuring or else you will not get an accurate measurement. If you have a tummy, measure under it. See our video below on how to measure.
Look through our gallery of styles and select your size and desired style of beads or fill out the custom order form. You can wear one strand or you can wear several strands at once.

Silver Tone and Gold Tone
Avoid exposing silver tone and gold tone clasps/jewelry to perspiration, moisture, lotion, perfume, makeup, etc. as silver/gold tone can fade or become dull more quickly. It is recommended to store all jewelry in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Tips for Care of Waist Beads
-It is not recommended to wear waist beads in water because metal components are used in the construction.
-It is also not recommended to wear waist beads in water to keep the colours bright and vibrant.
-Most waist beads are made with a gold tone or silver tone base metal clasp, unless another material is requested.
-Please also take care when removing clothing while wearing waist beads. Like any other jewelry, if you pull too hard, the jewelry may break.
